Do you need your birth certificate to get your belly button pierced?

I am 17 and I know you have to be 18 to legally get your belly button pierced, so my mother is going with me. I did all of the research but I just can't seem to find out if you need your birth certificate. My mother lost mine, as well as my siblings, so I haven't even been able to obtain my ID. Is there any way to get around it? Also, does anyone know a general price for it in Richmond, Virginia?Do you need your birth certificate to get your belly button pierced?
Yes, you still need your birth certificate even though it's been lost. The reason that a birth certificate is needed is because so many children try to scam shops by bringing in either people off the street that claim to be their parents or by bringing in an aunt or uncle with the same last name (and similar looks) to sign for them. The birth certificate prevents either of those from signing for you, as the only person with legal right is your legal parent.

Either way, you'll need a birth certificate to get your identification as well. It will only take a few weeks time though. Through the registrar's office in the county you were born, you can get an immediate copy if you live in that county still. If you need to send for it, it's usually 2 weeks. Most hospitals only keep birth certificate copies around for a year. If they kept them all, half the hospital would be records.
the hospital you were born at should have a copyDo you need your birth certificate to get your belly button pierced?
noo, you don;t neeed a birth certificate

an id maybe, i can't rememberDo you need your birth certificate to get your belly button pierced?
You don't need it if a guardian is present and the piercing is free it depends on which ring you choose
i doubt u need ur birth cert. if ur moms going with you. maybe if u were going alone. and about the price i have no idea. i like in phx az srry
Nope. If your mom is going with you, your ID shouldn't be necessary, only hers. I don't know about prices in your specific area, but most body piercings average $30. A navel piercing should be $25-$35.
if you are under 18, a parent/legal guardian *must* sign for you to get a piercing/tattoo. i was 24 when i got my tat, and i still had to show id.in most states, the parent/guardian must also present id,and be present when the piercing/tat is done. as for getting a duplicate, try going through ur local health department. that's where we go to get duplicates for ours in our state.
the hospital should have it

%26amp;%26amp; it cost around liek 40-60 doller i think
you dont need a birth certificate. you just need some kind of proof if you're going alone. if your mom is taking you then you dont have to worry about it at all. the price is anywhere form 20-50 dollars
can't believe you might need that . think if a parent is present it should be ok , mean you almost 18 anyways .

up where i live you could get that piercing at 15 without any trouble maybe even 14 .
When I went to get my ears pierced before I was 18 I needed my parent just to be there but when I went to ask about getting my navel pierced I was told I had to have my birth certificate and my parent had to show ID and prove I was their daughter. It was such a big hassle I waited. I got mine done on my 18th birthday.
