How do you get a passport with a closed adoption Birth Certificate?

I have a non-detail ( standard for adoption birth certificate ). How do I get a passport and obtain a detailed copy to present to the federal government ?How do you get a passport with a closed adoption Birth Certificate?
Currently, the full name of a parent is necessary on a birth certificate which is to be presented to the State Department. However, your birth certificate is not necessary. You can provide secondary evidence of your birth in the U.S.A., such as Form DS-10: Birth Affidavit OR

early public records (Baptismal certificate or hospital birth certificate, for example). How do you get a passport with a closed adoption Birth Certificate?
A short form birth certificate is standard issue for ALL, regardless of whether you were adopted or not. And, regardless of whether you were adopted or not, you can order a long-form birth certificate. It will have the details necessary for your passport- it has been altered to reflect your adoption.

EDITED TO ADD: You can also request a copy of the adoption decree- that may be enough.
