I just recently changed my sons last name legally and i have his old live birth certificate and it looks totally different that the new birth certificate i just got in the mail.... they are set up printing wise totally different... one looks like mine, live birth certificate and the birth certificate i got looks different.... what is more acceptable for the social security office the actual birth certificate or live birth certificate?Whats the difference between: Live Birth Certificate and Birth Certificate?
It only matters that it is a certified copy. You should also bring evidence of the legal name change.
There are different names used by different states, and as you see, even with the same state. There's also "certificate of live birth."
