Can you use a certified copy of your birth certificate to get into canada?

I need to travel into canada but my family cannot find the original copy of my birth certificate. I went into the city and purchased a certified, stamped copy of my birth certificate is the copy acceptable along with a drivers license and SS card? I don't have time to get a passport since i need to travel this week and i know that would be the easiest way to get through. I'll be driving. Can you use a certified copy of your birth certificate to get into canada?
If you are a citizen of the US, Canada, or Mexico - AND are traveling by land, you will require proof of citizenship (which may be passport, birth certifiacte, and/or naturalization papers) AND photo ID (which may be passport, US or Canada dirver's license, or military ID).

These are the only acceptable forms of identification, by the way. Other things you may be required to take with you are permanent residency documents (for instance a Mexican or Canadian who is a PR of the US) and other work/travel visa documents ... not so much to get into Canada, but to be able to return to the US.

For the purposes of the "birth certificate" portion, either an original document or a stamped, certified reproduction (issued by the same province or state as where you were actually born) is acceptable. A laminated version is NOT acceptable.

Lastly - the customs and immigration folks at both borders have the right to refuse entry to anyone that they believe is using suspicious documentation - even if the visitors are meeting the "letter of the law". This is probably why the trucking company's drivers were required to have passports, instead of just driver license and birth certificate - or the driver license was not one of the photo style issued in the US or Canada.
I just went to Canada 2 weeks ago and you have to have a passport. Also I own a trucking business and my drivers go into Canada a lot, they have to have a passport. You are required to have a passport. It is a forgein country. I recieved a letter from the Border PatrolCan you use a certified copy of your birth certificate to get into canada?
You do NOT yet need a passport to travel to and from Canada by LAND See website below. Can you use a certified copy of your birth certificate to get into canada?
Yes. The Certified copy with the raised stamp, is exactly what you need. It is as good as the original, and millions of people use it.

This is only good as you are driving. You cannot fly in/out of Canada with a birth certificate and drivers license any more.

You don't need an SS card, that proves nothing. The Drivers license needs to have a picture - the real requirement is a government issued photo ID and proof of citizenship.
I think so... =)
that is fine with a picture id
