I have a photocopy of my birth certificate is this good enough to get into Canada?

I have had a trip planned to go to Canada for the weekend and was just told recently that my photographed copy of my birth certificate would not be good enough to get in or re-enter the US. I do not have a passport, and i do not have enough time to get an official birth certificate. Am i pretty much not going to be able to go?I have a photocopy of my birth certificate is this good enough to get into Canada?
Yes you cannot go with a photocopy of the birth certificate unless it is certified showing that it is true.
No you cant use a photocopy, see below.

Starting December 31st 2006, the United States will begin implementing a requirement for passports to enter the United States. This will affect visitors to the US and US residents re-entering the US. The first phase of the requirement for passports will affect people traveling by air into the US and begin December 31, 2006. The second phase of the requirement for passports will begin December 31, 2007, and will affect all persons traveling to the US whether by ground, air, or water.

Identification

United States citizens and legal residents of the United States do not need passports or visas to enter Canada as visitors. If you do have a valid passport we recommend bringing it since it will help facilitate crossing the border both into Canada and returning to the United States.

When crossing the border you may be asked to show proof of citizenship such as birth, voter's, naturalization certificate or passport. If the identification does not have a picture ID you may be asked to provide this as well. A drivers license is generally sufficient for picture ID but is not proof of citizenship by itself. Photocopies of any identification are not acceptable and may initiate a more thorough investigation.

Proof of Citizenship Proof of Identity

-Passport

-Birth Certificate

-Voters Certificate

-Naturalization Certificate -Passport

-Drivers License

Passports are the best form of identification because they prove both identity and citizenship.I have a photocopy of my birth certificate is this good enough to get into Canada?
You'll get into Canada. However, you won't get back into the US.

So if you don't have the time to get an official birth certificate, you'll have to ditch the trip.I have a photocopy of my birth certificate is this good enough to get into Canada?
Where do you think you're going eastern Africa obviously you need a passport.
It might get you in, but you WILL NOT be able to get back... i would suggest ditching the trip, unless you want to be stuck in canada..

Hope this helps...
I doubt you can go. You'll definitly need an official document and the best would be a passport.
no, stay in texas
