I was adopted, and after all adoptions are finalized, the state issues a new birth certificate with the adoptive parents names on it instead of the birth parents. I think they call this an amended birth certificate? You want the city and county of where the old certificate is. So Google that plus something like Vital Statistics or Recorder's Office or Birth Records.
