How old do you have to be to keep your birth certificate?

Do you have to be 18 to keep your birth certificate? Can a minor keep ownership of their birth certificate or do their parents have to keep their birth certificate?

Can a parent give custody of the birth certificate to the minor? How old do you have to be to keep your birth certificate?
You are NOT allowed to have the original. You can only have a copy. The original is kept by the city, state, county, province, whatever NOT an individual. You can get a certified copy from the state, city, etc. at any age.
You can apply to secure a copy of your birth certificate at your town's civil registrar's office. Bring mum or dad along but you can keep a copy to yourself, lock it in your sock drawer. How old do you have to be to keep your birth certificate?
You have to be alive. There is no law that states you have to be X years old to posses your birth certificate. Of course if you are under 18 your parents can take it away from you.How old do you have to be to keep your birth certificate?
A minor should be able to buy their own copy. Not sure though. Why not? You have to have ID so you may need your parents anyway.
