And that any resident of the state of Hawaii can get one even if they were born outside the US? Why won't Obama release his birth certificate? Why won't he release any information about his dealings with lobbyists in his law practice? Why won't he release his medical records? Why do Obama's disciples blindly accept this? How can they defend someone they don't even know? Please explain this to me, I seriously want to understand the thinking.|||Let's clear up some errors here.
Hawaii issues two types of birth documents:
A) Certificate of Live Birth (long form with full birth details
B) Certification of Live Birth (short form, missing lots of information).
1. The document that President Obama showed to FACTCHECK.ORG and that apeared on The Daily KOS is NOT a Certificate of Live Birth. It is a Certification of Live Birth (COLB) short form. Hawaii issues both, the Certification is the short form and Certificate is the long form.
Certification is NOT a certificate. Very different documents.
2. President Obama needs to be a 'natural born citizen' (NBC) not just a citizen. NBC is not defined in the Constitution; case law will apply.
3. Hawaiian officals have NOT confirmed that the COLB posted on FACTCHECK.ORG was issued by the State of Hawaii. They have been asked and they refuse to do so.
4. In over 30 court cases thus far, President Obama's legal teams have NEVER presented the COLB to a court as evidence.
So if the images of the short form document posted on FACTCHECK.ORG are genuine, why won't President Obama's lawyers use it in court to settle the matter?
Clearly President Obama is hiding something and for the life of me I do not understand why his supporters don't want the documents examined.
If this were a birth issue that related to President Bush, they would be screaming along with ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN for his birth documents.|||It just passes the common sense test to me.
Because I don't have an original copy of my birth certificate signed by doctors in the hospital on the day I was born. If I need a birth certificate then I go to the county office and ask for a copy, which they print out for me. Nor do I have that orginal document for the birth of my daughters.
It seems unreasonable to expect him to produce it. He's produced the equivalent of what I could produce for my own birth. I'm actually surprised that so many people think it is such an easy task to produce your original, signed, thumbprinted birth cert.|||You don't know what you're talking about. That shouldn't surprise me since the people you listen to don't know what they're talking about. The certified document Obama showed a year ago is virtually identical in key informational respects to a document I have from the state of New York. My NY document was all I needed to get a US passport because it's all the state department requires to prove citizenship, therefor the document from Hawaii is more than adequate. In fact it has more information on it than does my document. Obama isn't showing anything else because the "birthers" aren't entitled to see anything else. If I were him I wouldn't give those nut jobs the time of day. He's the president of the United State and as such isn't going to jump through hoops over baseless allegations.

The right keeps bring that up as if it is in any way, shape of form significant.|||You can get a certificate of live birth in Hawaii even if you weren't born there. Of course, the certificate of live birth doesn't say you were born in Hawaii unless you were born in Hawaii. Pretty big distinction.
Further, his birth was documented in two Hawaiian newspapers. Do you think Hawaii will prints old newspapers on request too?|||He doesn't have any obligation to YOU to release his birth certificate medical, or any other PERSONAL documents/information records to YOU. The FBI would have checked verified all of this before he was sworn in as President of the United States. If any of these things resulted in the questioning of his qualifications to be President, he wouldn't be President.|||Is everybody aware that....
