So, I just watched an infomercial paid for by "birthers."
They say that Obama has not produced his birth certificate but only produced a certificate of live birth. However, they don't say what the difference between a certificate of live birth and a birth certificate is.
What is the difference between a "birth certificate" and "certificate of live birth?"|||There isn't any difference. In Hawaii, there are 2 types of birth certificate. Both are legal and both are proof of birth. The first is a "certificate of live birth" and is produced at the time of the birth. The second is a "certification of live birth" and is a registered copy. President Obama provided a "certification of live birth".|||They are the same thing except for the fact a live certificate of birth is done at the time of said birth so if anything holds more weight then a birth certificate though a birth certificate has more info. Also the fact, the state of Hawaii while keeping certificates of live birth public, has NO ONES "birth certificate" available for public view, Obama included. Funny birthers
In Oklahoma, the laws are different from other states. In Connecticut, as in probably Hawaii, you don't need a birth certificate to obtain a license, it's just a commonly used form of ID|||There is no difference. My daughter who was born in Wyoming where they use a central registry was issued a temporary "Birth Certificate" at birth by the hospital that said "Not Valid for Identification purposes - Temporary Only" then we received her "Certificate of Live Birth" in the mail about 3 weeks later. Oh, and she is in her 20's now. So, my guess is that all states that use a central registry use "Certificates of Live Birth".|||There is NO difference. My own original birth certificate from the state of Kansas in 1960 is a certificate of live birth. My grandparents - who were both born at home instead of in a hospital - were issued "delayed certificates of birth."
What President Obama was issued from the state of Hawaii was all that is required to prove his birth. Those who think otherwise are mislead or delusional.|||Here in Oklahoma a birth certificate has all of the vital statistics such as doctors name, babys weight at birth, length at birth, mother and fathers names, time of birth, etc. the certificate of live birth just means someone looked at you and said yeah you're alive. In Oklahoma, Obama could not get a drivers license with the certificate of live birth he submitted.|||They are the same thing. My original birth certificate is called a certificate of live birth.|||There isn't. Legally, they are the same thing. You want an ID, driver's license, or passport, that will work.|||The long form birth certificate is much harder to forge and so are more valued as a 'true' document. I am not as concerned about the Obama's birth certificate as I am that he has blocked all access to his college and school records back to kindergarten.
U.S. officials asked for proof of his birth etc when he was attending college as a 'foreign student' where he was receiving funds from the US Gov as a foreign student and these records have been blocked also. Now if he attended college as a foreign student then how can he be a natural born U.S. citizen eligible to run for the Presidency??
I don't believe the truth will come out about Obama's birth until years after his presidency. It would just open to big a can of worms to handle. So it is all kind of moot to me. I do not believe he was born a natural citizen and think it was unfair that McCain had to 'prove' he was a natural born citizen and there were hearings in Congress over it - but Obama never did.|||The Birth Certificate is issues when the child is born at a hospital. A certificate of live birth is given out in a case where there was a home birth. Otherwise they are the same.
