What type of Birth Certificate do you need to cross into Canada?
I am planning on going across the USA border into British Columbia by car in a few weeks, but I'm not sure what type of birth certificates will be accepted. I know that they aren't requiring passports until June if you have a drivers license and a birth certificate, but can this birth certificate be any type, an original from birth at a hospital, or does it have to be a certified birth certificate? Thanks.|||It needs to be the original or a certified copy you obtained from the govt office. it cannot be just a copy machine copy. Also it cannot be that keepsake" birth certificate with foot prints that is given to parents at the hospital...it must be the official govt produced birth certificate.|||One that is issued from the provincial government of your birth place.|||As far as I know there is only one type of birth certificate, the type from your state registrars office. If you have that then you will have no problem crossing into Canada by land at this point in time.
