I am no longer involved with the mother or child but my name is on his birth certificate. I was led to believe the biological father was unknown. The actual father is known and wants very much to be in his son's life and we need to find out how to have my name removed so the biological father can have his rights back. All of the adult parties involved must go to the county health department or the place where the certificate was issued and make the request for the change. If you signed the BC the time ranges from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the state, to have your name removed. After that period you will have to file a motion with the court.

You go have the other man go to court to establish paternity and child support. The will do a DNA test and if he's the father your off the hook.
