Why do people think a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Birth are different?

They may have different titles at the top, but legally mean LITERALLY THE SAME THING. I have a "Certificate of Birth." I guess that means I am a foreigner.Why do people think a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Birth are different?
Because people believe what they are told, even if it is wrong. A "Birth Certificate" is whatever the issuing state says it is.

If you're referring to the controversy with Obama, the difference is between a birth certificate (also known as a certificate of birth) and a certificate of live birth. The two are different there because you can get a certificate of live birth without being born in the hospital issuing your certificate.

That's what has caused the controversy with Obama because people think his certificate of live birth is hiding something.

Obama WAS born in this country and that can be proven via many different ways- I am not a birther. But a certificat of live birth is NOT the same as a birth certificate. Not too long ago you could easily get a certificate of live birth by simply paying a fee and SAYING that your child was born there... you didn't have to have proof from the hospital or anything. I think they changed this when 9-11 came (or maybe later) and now this is not the case, but they were not the same things at all. before 9-11 if you went to the DMV with a certificate of live birth they would tell you straight out that this was not proof of anything and send you to go get your "real" birth certificate.Why do people think a Birth Certificate and a Certificate of Birth are different?
I have a daughter adopted from Russia. When We got back to the USA I was shocked that I got a Birth Cert. Just like the one Obama has on line. And it says she was born in Florida. So the birth Cert Obama is showing doesn't mean he was really born in Hawaii. ONly a Long form Birth Cert can do that.
There is a slight difference although the Facts are the same, when something on the birth certificate has been changed you might receive a certificate of live birth. In my case I can no longer get the Long form of my birth certificate because I was adopted
Actually, the bigger issue is not the semantics like you are trying to do but the fact that people have had to be quieted in Africa where Obama was really born and was registered in the United States.
They don't think for themselves.
