I don't understand, birther or not.. why is wanting to see Obama's original birth certificate such a horrible request that people get offended and offensive? People say that showing his original birth certificate won't satisfy the birthers, but is that the reason they aren't releasing his birth certificate? If he is really born in the United States then there is nothing to worry about. I don't understand why people get so worked up for something as simple as asking for the President's birth certificate. Is asking for the President for his original birth certificate such a bad request?
His birth certificate has been shown and authenticated several times.*
No, just a stupid, baseless, and pointless one. It's not a matter worth discussing. Ignore the birthers and they'll crawl back into their holes. Is asking for the President for his original birth certificate such a bad request?
No of course not.
Asking for it repeatedly after he's already produced it is a malicious habit though. Is asking for the President for his original birth certificate such a bad request?
Obama must be aware of the "birther" groups by now; so why doesn't he just produce the d^*#* birth certificate?
further, why has he spent $900 to keep it private.
How many times do you need to see it?
And will it matter.
Well, it was presented and seen.
It's also a phenomenon that emerged with Mr. Obama and wasn't even targeted at any other major nominee for Presidential office.
think that it should be required to even run for office
You can't fight the media, and the media is telling most of the idiots in america not to question it, but rather throw insults at those whom dare to request such a thing. Just look above. Insults most of them. They can't do anything but call it stupid, ignorant, racist, nothing but insults.
Some at least try to go halfway and act like they don't know the difference between a birth certificate and certificate of live birth.
And so it was, the media won, and watch as the insults fly.
Apparently conservative justices, Scalia and Thomas, already saw enough or they damned sure would be hearing the lawsuits.
I've never seen George Bush's birth certificate. Have you?
Yeah its a bad request
why dont you ask him for his passport and SS card...what are you.. some detective?
Papers, please. Papers, please. (Spoken in a German accent)
ADDITION: The FBI and the CIA do extensive background checks on anyone running for federal office, so they would have found out if Obama was not born in this country. Secondly, he HAS shown his birth certificate. And thirdly, Obama is not wealthy enough to pay for a cover-up this large. So there.
Because he's their Messiah and in their eyes, he should be President regardless...
If he were just some "typical white guy" that was a conservative, they would DEMAND he show it and if he were as resistant as he is now, they would probably literally march into the White House and tar/feather him.
The hypocrisy is stifling.
Right wing conspiracy be gone Hawaii has shown his birth certificate many times you guys just can't accept it.
would this type of question, be put to rest already.!
Don't you understand He is larger and more important then the law. Perhaps when his ratings fall the courts will show a little back bone and pursue the question
and all the other documents being withheld. black out whatever you want and leave the proof.
"why is wanting to see Obama's original birth certificate such a horrible request"
It';s already been firmly established that he was born in Hawaii in 1961. His birth certificate was released. The birthers just dreamed up excuses as to why its not valid. The issue is closed. Nobody but a handful of kooks continues to pursue it.
You can ONLY get COPIES. You need to check the Hawai'i LAW on vital records such as birth certificates.
That's an excellent question. Why don't they just produce it and let's all move on?
I've never seen my long-form birth certificate. My parents only received the short-form one when I was born. If I want to get a passport, a state ID card, apply for a job, etc, the short-form birth certificate is the only one that is required. The short-form birth certificate is also the one that Obama has presented.
Both of my parents, all of my grandparents, and seven out of eight of my great-grandparents were born in the United States.
Since I never had a copy of my long-form birth certificate, does that mean that I was not born in the US? No, of course not.
It's only stupid after it's been shown. It has been shown. Now its stupid.
Main reasons people get upset about it, is that a birth certificate is actually a protected record (as it is one of the documents someone can use for identity theft) and NO private citizen has the right to demand it from another. Add to this, no private citizen has every tried to demand this of a president before. (And there has been at least one president in the past who their natural birth status was actually in question.)
In addition, in this specific case Obama has already released his short form... and it was verified as being accurate per the Hawaii government in several interviews... and the birthers are still claiming it is fake. And People in the record department in Hawaii have confirmed that they have seen his original BC and that he was born in Hawaii, and the birthers still say he was not... add in that there is not even an option to get a copy of the long form they keep talking about on the Hawaii site... and you can see that it will not matter what Obama presents to them, they will continue to say it is all fake.
I don't have one friend who still has their original birth certificate. Either parents loose them moving around or, if they've given them to the kids, they're lost when the kids move, etc. By the time you're 25 or 30, if you've had any kind of busy, interesting life, the original document is usually lost. But you've already got your SS number, your driver's license and, if you need one, a passport so you don't really need your birth certificate for much and most people don't miss them when they're gone. If something comes up or you do want to keep one on hand, you write the Registrar of the county where you were born and apply for a duplicate - but it's not a copy of the original. It looks like a microfiche copy of a boilerplate legal form. Every county's form is different. I have my original (because I put it in a safe deposit box) and, because my parents and grandparents were still hassling about my name when I was born, it says "Baby Girl" where a name should be. Now there's a real good i.d.
Obama's birth certificate was posted online for months during the campaign. Hawaiian officials attested to its veracity. Annenburg representatives examined it in Chicago and attested that it was an official document, that it wasn't forged. It seems that the birthers are willing to accept no one's word and are waiting for God Himself to annoint Obama. When people stick to their beliefs in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, when they insist they're right while the world says they're wrong, something's not right.
Asking the President for his original birth certificate is not an unreasonable request Everybody has one. You can get yours online in a week for a few bucks. Why has Obama spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep his out of sight. o_O
